Ukraine is the exporter of electricity. Its main customers are Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Romania and Moldova. In recent years, Ukraine has been actively developing alternative energy.
Energy of Ukraine is an important industry in Ukraine. It is based on the use of traditional (thermal and hydro) power plants with a deviation from the average statistics to a greater use of nuclear power plants.
In 2011according to the Ministry Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine primary energy production in Ukraine were: coal - 81.99 million tonnes (including 56.97 million tonnes - steam coal, 25.02 million t - Cox), natural gas - 20.14 billion m3, oil and gas condensate - 3.33 million tonnes.
